It's now easier to manage Curves (wireline logs) in ODM3, using a new and improved set of curve management tools.
|
Curve Group Manager The Curve Group Manager (found under the Organiser menu) is used to maintain a list of Curve Groups and their Members (e.g. GR, CGR and Smoothed GR are Members of the Gamma Curve Group). You can define the default Display Style for a Curve Group, as well as for individual Members. Note that we refer to these as Members and not curves, as we are not dealing with real data here - just the configuration of curves. The Curve Group Manager and brings together the Log Manager and Plot Styles (wireline log data) dialogs in previous versions of ODM3. |
|
Curve Set Manager The Curve Set Manager (found under the Organiser menu) allows you to create additional Sets of curves (i.e. a batch of Curve Groups/Members that are to be handled together). Most users will only work with the Default Set and won't have to create others. Sets will mainly be used by: (1) ODM users that import logs to/from Interactive PetrophysicsTM and (2) those who want to separate out logs into batches (e.g. raw data and processed data). Sets allow selection of curves to be managed as a batch in the Log Curve Maintenance dialog (below). |

Log Curve Maintenance The Log Curve Maintenance tool (found under the Utilities menu) has seen some major improvements in ODM 3.6. You can now make changes (e.g. rename, delete or apply a depth shift) to curves in more than one well at a time. By default, changes will be applied to all curves in the database. Click 'Filter by well' to expand the dialog so as to make a selection of wells, as shown below. Curves can be managed in Sets (see Curve Set Manager, above). Most users will only use the Default Curve Set. If you select another Set, this dialog (right) will only display curves that exist within that Set. You can move a selection of curves to another Set using the 'Change Set' button. |

Would be good to have the option to flag a curve as 'corporate signed off'
The 'Change Set' button does not exist in my ODM version. Instead there is a "Set as TWT" button. How do I move a curve to another set?
Kathleen,
Have you created a new set to move the curve into? If you go to Organiser > Curve Set Manager, do you have more than just the default set? I think if you add a new one the 'change set' button should become active.

Nick,
I should add that it is also now possible to 'flag' curves. In the Utilities > Log Curve Maintenance tool you can 'set as Released' and 'Set as non-released', which you could consider as signed off/not signed off.
When you are using this feature, released curves appear magenta-coloured and non-released curves appear green.
When the Released flag is used, you can also filter exports (Export > Log Data...) on this flag.
Note that this is a little add-on, so exists as an 'experimental feature' in ODM. To enable this go to Tools > Options > Other, and all or some enable experimental features.
