The Apply Well tool is mainly used for the production of charts that use a consistent layout. Given a particular chart design (comprised of wellsticks, maps, projections, etc), this new tool lets you change the well displayed in the panels in a single operation. Options are present to control the behaviour of the individual panels and how they rescale.
The Apply Well tool acts as a 'digital wellbook creator', letting you build charts and/or Adobe Acrobat files of a selection of wells based on a specific chart layout. There is also an option to generate a shapefile that links back to generated output.

How to use the Apply Well tool While a chart is open, select Tools > Apply Well to open the Apply Well dialog. First, in the Well tab, you must specify the well you want to apply to the chart. |
|
The Objects tab lets you control the behaviour of the individual panels and how they rescale. Well stick properties - Options to control the scaling and depth range of the well stick. For example, you may choose to keep the same scale, but to base the Depth Range on the Lithostratigraphy - Group data for that particular well. Wellpath Projection Properties - Options to keep the same line of projection, or to autofit the line of projection to the well path, while maintaining the same size or scale. Map Properties - Options to decide how you want the map to change (if at all), including options to autofit the ROI (Region of Interest) around the select well or wellpath. Production Plots (WSM Module only) - Options to keep the same date range, or to change the date range to match the maximum extents on the resultant chart.
The Builder tab shows the progress of the build. |

The Output tab provides options to build ODM charts and/or digital well books (Adobe Acrobat files) of a selection of wells based on a specific chart layout. There is also an option to generate a shapefile that links back to generated output. |
