New interpreter and data security model

The new Interpreter model in ODM v3.7 helps improve your well data management by keeping track of data ownership. All discrete data can be tagged with an Interpreter, which might designate the name of an individual interpreter, the name of the data provider or for final, quality-checked data the name of your organisation. Different interpretations of the same data are easier to manage and compare.

Please refer to this PDF reference document (updated Nov 2011) that outlines the following:

  • What are Interpreters and why use them?
  • Managing Interpreters
    • Adding or editing an Interpreter
    • Assigning access rights to a user
    • Setting the Active Interpreter
    • Removing Interpreters and associated data
  • Working with Interpreters
    • Assigning an Interpreter to existing or legacy data
    • Importing/loading data to an Interpreter
    • Viewing interpretations in the data browser
    • Plotting different interpretations on charts
    • Interpreters elsewhere in the system
