We are going to be holding a half-day ODM Workshop in Oslo on the 1st December 2011, which aims to give new and prospective users of ODM a chance to explore its use as a ‘wells database’. The event will be of particular interest those who deal with data management.
Speakers: Alan Wilson and Michelle Hollerbach Silva, Senergy AS
Hosted by: VNG Norge, Filipstad Brygge 1, Aker Brygge Business Park, Oslo
Date and time: Thursday 1st December 2011, 12.30 - 4.30pm
Please note that the guest list for this event is full already, but please let us know if you are interested and we can make alternative arrangements.
The event will be led by Alan Wilson and Michelle Hollerbach Silva, both geologists and expert ODM users based in Senergy’s Stavanger Office. VNG Norge have kindly offered to host the event in their new office at Aker Brygge, which is in the same building as Senergy’s new (small but expanding) Oslo office.
Attendees will have the chance to meet other clients who are working to address common issues. The workshop will be partly hands-on, so attendees will have the opportunity to get a feel for ODM. The event will help those looking to evaluate ODM to get the most out of their trial period.
We will outline ODM’s use as a ‘data integrator’ by demonstrating some of ODM’s purpose-built data links with other software packages. A growing number of our clients, particularly here in Norway, are using ODM in conjunction with Petrel and IP, for which ODM offers a flexible and straight-forward ‘wells database’ solution. We will explore the potential to integrate well data from Diskos and the NPD with proprietary data stored in Petrel and IP (Interactive Petrophysics (IPTM) – also developed by Senergy) projects and other ODM databases provided by consultancies.
We will demonstrate how ODM’s flexible ‘database structure’ can be designed to suit your own needs, and how it’s data security model, interpreter tagging functionality and audit trail support effective data management.
The workshop will also touch on other aspects of ODM, such as its powerful geological tools and excellent graphical output, and consider how it can assist with inter-disciplinary working.
