Plot wellsticks and correlations in True Stratigraphic Thickness (TST)
ODM version 3.7 allows users to plot interval data in True Stratigraphic Thickness (i.e. the thickness of a rock layer measured perpendicular to the layer, with corrections for bed dip and deviation of the wellbore that penetrates the layer).
The local values of dip and azimuth, used in the determination of TST, are stored in a zonal data type. These values may be calculated as averages of DIPF and AZIF logs.
The objective is to create a set of zones that define structural units. These zones are then be populated with the average local dip and azimuth values. The averages, once calculated, can be used to determine TST.
Workflow
The attached document outlines this workflow in more detail.
Below: a screenshot of a well header properties dialog, where the user has chosen to plot in TST, defining the source of the dip/azi values as ODM data types.
