New Features

Below is a list of new features and improvements in ODM version 3.7, the most significant of which link to more detailed explanations with examples. In addition to these, numerous enhancements and upgrades have been made to the User Interface to improve the look and behaviour of the ODM tools.

  • Plot in True Stratigraphic Thickness (TST)
Wellsticks and correlations can now be plotted against True Stratigraphic Thickness (TST). New tools allow average dip and azimith values to be calculated across zones.

  • Improved chronostratigraphic plotting
Enhancements within ODM 3.7 bring new, more accurate and versatile plotting options for age plotting to produce stratigraphic summary charts (or Wheeler diagrams).

  • New interpreter and data security model

A new Interpreter and Data Security model improves tracking of data ownership. All discrete data within ODM may now be tagged with an interpreter label, with tools to designate which users can read or write to these interpreters.

  • Insert active hyperlinks on charts
Chart objects can now be configured with a active hyperlinks linking to other ODM objects (such as Charts and Maps) or external files (such as PDFs, Microsoft Office documents and web pages).

  • Enhancements to the Reservoir Performance Module (RPM)
    Including:
       - Integration of RPM data into ODM wellsticks
       - Filtering output from RPM reports
       - Live linking to RPM Templates within ODM Charts

  • Improved PDF Generator
A new and improved PDF engine gives greater control over page sizes, and improved graphical output of ODM Charts and Maps.

  • Variable core shifts
ODM version 3.7 sees the introduction of variable core shifts, allowing for different parts of the core to be shifted by different amounts with respect to the log data.

  • Petrel: TCP/IP connection
Petrel no longer needs to be running on the same computer as ODM to allow the transfer of data to take place to take place.  The TCP/IP Connection option allows ODM to connect to any open copy of Petrel on the local network.

  • Petrophysics Report
A new report returns statistics on log data across selected intervals. Multiple log curves in one or more wells can be interrogated, with results filtered on minimum and maximum values if required.

  • Stratabugs core shifted data
ODM's data link with Stratabugs now imports shifted core data into ODM, alongside non-shifted data.

  • Dinkey Dongle (ODM licence option)
A replacement to the FLEX dongle that works with Windows 7 and does not require a driver to be pre-installed.

  • Curve set security model
User access to log data can now be restricted by curve set.  Individual users can be granted Read/Write or Read Only access, or excluded.
