User-defined OpenWorks Attributes

In ODM 3.6, the list of available OpenWorks attributes (for Kind and Qualifier) are under user control.

The lists are maintained in an text file, held in the ODM Database Folder.

Items can be added to and removed from the lists via the OW Mappings category of the ODM Configuration panel.

  • Kind: Enter the term as it appears both in ODM and OpenWorks
  • Qualifier: Enter the OpenWorks term on the left of the equals sign, and the description as it appears in ODM on the right.

The default list of attributes is unchanged.

This functionality is also available in ODM 3.5.07 and later, as an Experimental feature ("OWAttributes").

Other Features

  • Option to link to R2003 or R5000 for OpenWorks
  • Added a ‘Test Connection’ button for the OpenWorks link

This will make a very powerful tool even more powerful and push it into thedata management arena.

Nice idea and well done.

This looks good and might be a way for those of us outside the warm and wonderful world of OW to store a bit more geological data to go with our picks. I'm just wondering if ODM3 can do anything with the data beyond just storing it? Can we filter ties by their Qualifier? Use them on maps to distinguish between absences due to non-deposition, erosion and faulting?
